I just wanted to write this quick blog post to celebrate the fact that today (May 21st 2012) is Infinity IRC’s 3rd birthday!

I (Henry/Henco) started the network on May 21st 2009, with a friend from school, running on a home server under my desk. We started back then on the domain name infinityirc.co.uk. This continued for a few months but we didn’t get many people due to lack of advertising/interest/knowledge. My friend lost interest and I found some new people to help run the network with me. We started introducing VPS’ into Infinity’s infrastructure, and phased out my home server by November 2009. We bought the domain name infinityirc.com and continued expanding and growing.

3 years on, May 21st 2012, we have more great channels than ever, and a lovely community. I’d like to thank you all for being part of it over the years, and here’s to many more! *raises glass*
