It came to my attention that the only way to discover channels on Infinity IRC was to use the /list command or look at the channels list on the website. Both of these, however, merely list the channels by number of users present, and this is not always the best way to look at things.

Here’s a small list of perhaps the most popular channels on Infinity IRC by activity, and a small description.

  • #Infinity – Main network hub channel. This is where most people on the network are, and where you’re welcome to talk about virtually any subject you wish to.
  • #jake – Technology-themed channel based around the online presence of tech guru Jake Wright.
  • #drunks – Founded by Infinity IRC’s resident drunk, Robby, this channel is simply a place for the drunks to hang out and “talk”.
  • #iDominateU – This channel is home of iDominateU and some Australians. Good place to go if you like gaming and minecraft.

There are also a few channels which provide services and assistance:

  • #bnc4free & #EliteBNC – These channels both provide free IRC Bouncers, allowing you to keep connected to IRC even with your PC off.
  • #support – The Infinity IRC support channel. If you need help with anything IRC related, this is probably your best bet.

Hopefully this will help you find the channels that suit you. If there’s any I’ve missed out which you feel should be added, feel free to email henco@infinityirc.com with suggestions.
